The National Research Register as been archived!

Where has the National Research Register gone?

The National Research Register has been moved to a searchable electronic archive based on the records collected up to September 2007. You may also view the Statement on information about current NIHR Research.

Do NRR 'data providers' have to send their project records elsewhere?

No!

NRR 'data providers', especially NHS organisations, are no longer required to make data submissions [see official statement]. The introduction of the United Kingdom Clinical Research Network (UKCRN) has shifted the responsibility for registering eligible research from NHS organisations to the researcher and the appropriate research network. The method of collecting this information is specific to each network but the total collection forms the UKCRN Portfolio Database.

The Health Departments in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales are making local arrangements to meet their own requirements. All the UK Health Departments are working together to ensure that the new systems are integrated. Data providers in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales should contact their own administrations for more details.
