Update Software has worked with Oxford Inspires over the past year to create the Oxfordshire 2007 website. Update is a local company based in Summertown, Oxford with 20 years of experience in creating both large international websites and electronic publications, but also smaller specialist ones such as Oxford Inspires.

Update also created an online ANTI-CLASH DIARY for Oxfordshire 2007, which enables event organisers to plan ahead to coordinate with one another. This feature can be adapted to the needs of many other situations: department meetings, restaurant bookings, organising meetings with people from different areas, and so on. Matt Gilbert, developer of the software for the anti-clash diary says: this really saves time for people and encourages participation. It has proved very popular and makes both the aggregation and publishing of information a straight forward task".

Building ties with Oxford Inspires
The relationship began in 2005 when Update were approached to create the web presence for Evolving City, a year-long programme of cultural events in and around Oxford. Update's skills and expertise in combining clarity of presentation with database management and programming went hand in hand with Oxford Inspires' ambitious aims for the project, leading naturally onto the development of Oxford Inspires' following project Oxfordshire 2007.
