Absorbable synthetic versus catgut suture material for perineal repair (Cochrane Review)

ABSTRACT

Background: Approximately 70% of women will experience some degree of perineal trauma following vaginal delivery and will require stitches. This may result in perineal pain and superficial dyspareunia.
